*This is a tow-day workshop. On the 1st day, you cut out a metal and create a mirror and on the 2nd day you create the outer box of camera to contain the mirror.
In Yan Kallen’s exhibition you can see a “camera obscura” made in collaboration with Kyoto artisans. This is a workshop to make your own camera obscura with Kyoto artisans at their workshops. With Akihisa Yamamoto (mirror), you will cut a slice of metal & create a mirror in the traditional way. With Keitaro Maki (shintoism woodwork), you will make the outer box of the camera from Japanese cedar. This beautiful object will form a functional camera obsura you can keep for a life time.
