In this workshop we will deviate from the traditional glass-made printing plate and participants will learn to use the new version of the process plate made from a monochrome negative (collotype tissue). This tissue provides the base where the negative can be coated with the gelatin, infused with DIAZO a nontoxic photosensitizer. Making collotype more accessible. Even those who have experienced traditional collotype workshops will gain knowledge and a new perspective using this version of production.
After an explanation of the method of production, participants produce the collotype tissue, then complete the process: exposure, developing, and printing.
